Under NSL Handbook Rule 54, yellow cards across all PSL competitions in a season add up:

| 8 | 1 match |
| 12 | 3 matches |
| Every further 4 | 1 match longer than the last ban |
- Yellows in a match where the player is sent off are not counted.
- Yellows in an abandoned match don't count.
- The count resets each season, but an unserved ban carries into the next season.
- A player who transfers takes their yellow cards to the new club.
