Around a stadium, venue or route the planning committee can mark out traffic-free zones on public roads or other areas. Every entry point must have a notice saying access is limited to accredited people and vehicles (s20(9)).
- Driving in: you may not drive into or within a traffic-free zone unless you have an accreditation card for you and the vehicle (s20(10)). An access control officer can ask for it and refuse entry without it.
- If your car is there without accreditation (s20(11)): you can be ordered to move it. If the owner or driver isn't readily available, police or a peace officer can remove and impound it, and the owner pays the costs of removal and impoundment.
- Parking offence (s44(1)(u)): parking without the written authorisation of the event organiser, authorised member or VOC commander in a traffic-free zone, or anywhere marked as a no-parking area inside or outside the stadium or venue, is an offence carrying a fine and/or up to 10 years' imprisonment.
