- Finals series threshold: four (4) yellow cards in the finals series bring a one-match suspension (the same for team officials).
- Reset: the yellow card count resets to zero at the end of the last A-Leagues match of the regular season and again at the end of the finals series. Yellows from the regular season do not carry into the finals, and finals yellows do not carry into the next regular season.
- When served: an accumulation suspension is served in the club's next A-Leagues match, whether that is in the regular season or the finals series.
- Non-fixture matches: a yellow card in a Non-Fixture Match (a match the club plays with Football Australia's prior written approval that is not a regular season, finals, Australia Cup, A-League Youth, NPL or similar match) does not accumulate towards future matches.
