Under the RowSA Rules of Racing (Rules 2.10.5 and 2.10.6, and 12.4):
- When: between one and two hours before your first race on each day of racing. If that race is postponed or cancelled, you don't need to be weighed again that day.
- What you wear: your registered racing uniform.
- Scales: tested scales that read to 0.1 kg.
- Where: control commission does the weighing. It also checks any deadweight you must carry before and after the race.
When it's enforced in schools rowing: under the SASRU rules, good sportsmanship means the minimum weight rule should be followed at every regatta, but in practice it is strictly enforced only at major and championship regattas and at the SA Schools Boat Race. Expect a weigh-in at those events.
