The CCOC may appoint a Technical Delegate to any competition on the National Calendar. Under the 2026 Companion Guide, the Technical Delegate:
- evaluates whether the organization of the national competition conforms to the regulations and the terms of reference for organizers
- may attend the competition to do this, and the organizer must provide a pass for free access plus an accreditation plate for the delegate's vehicle, giving entry to reserved parking at the start and finish and permission to drive on the event route
- draws up a detailed evaluation report of the event, a copy of which goes to the organizer
- may inspect the route beforehand, paying particular attention to safety issues and the danger points the organizer has indicated, and reports to Cycling Canada administration
- is consulted, where one has been appointed, on race procedures for national races
