AusCycling's officials pathway for road, mountain bike, track and cyclo-cross has three commissaire levels (BMX starts separately with the BMX Club Official course):
- Regional Commissaire is the starting point. It equips officials to manage events at state and territory level, and you can be accredited in one or more disciplines. Requirements: at least 16 years old, a current AusCycling membership (minimum Non-Riding), a Working with Children Check, the Australian Sports Commission Community Officiating Essential Skills course through the AusCycling Learning Centre, and the discipline-specific online eLearning module. Road and Track also need one practical assessment (Mountain Bike and Cyclo-cross need none). Enrolment is through JustGo and the course is free.
- National Commissaire equips experienced Regional Commissaires to manage elite-level events and National Championships. Requirements: at least 16 years old, a current AusCycling membership, a valid Working with Children Check or equivalent, and at least 2 years of experience as a Regional Commissaire.
- UCI Elite National Commissaire is for highly experienced National Commissaires and empowers them to manage UCI-sanctioned events within Australia in their chosen discipline. Requirements: at least 18 years old, a current AusCycling membership, a valid Working with Children Check or equivalent uploaded through the membership profile, and at least 2 years of experience as a National Commissaire with a proven track record at National and International events.
All AusCycling events must use AusCycling or UCI accredited officials.
