- Coaches
Coaches certified by the TPA must comply with Tennis Canada's Sport Safety requirements.
Required for Instructor certification:
- Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders module
- Background check (the course page specifies this if you are over 18)
- Declaration of Good Character
- Signed Code of Conduct
- Make Ethical Decisions training and evaluation
Ongoing: the Code of Conduct, Declaration of Good Character and background check are renewed every year, and Respect in Sport every three years.
Higher levels: the Coach 4 course page lists a Vulnerable Sector Screening check before starting. CP2 and CP3 list current CPR and/or Standard First Aid as prerequisites, and Coach 2 and Coach 3 list the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions evaluation if not already completed.
TPA members get free Sport Safety training, including a background check.
