When do I register as a coach and what does it cost?

The coach registration year runs September 1 to August 31. Register on the Membership Site's Coach Dashboard under the "Coaching" tab, then "View/Update Membership Records". Skate Canada generally does not issue refunds once the fee is paid.

Annual fees listed on the procedure page (plus applicable tax), for ages 15-64: national coach fee $100.00, section coach fee $25.00, Safe Sport fee $5.00, and insurance (liability, accident and weekly indemnity) $74.50. Ages 65+ pay the same fees with insurance (liability and accident, no weekly indemnity) of $65.05. For ages 75+ the listed insurance is liability only at $60.55.

Registration means full payment of registration fees and insurance premiums, which Skate Canada sets annually.
