Under the SAFA Competitions Uniform Rules: Substitutes: a maximum of seven on the bench (Rule 5.6). Team officials: no more than five, all registered with SAFA as part of the team's registration, for example the coach, assistant coach, doctor and/or masseur (Rule 6.2). They must show their official cards if the referee asks. Anyone without a SAFA registration card, or over the limit, is removed from the field immediately, and the team may be charged with misconduct (Rule 6.3). Officials not named on the team's annual registration form can't represent the team at SAFA hearings or activities (Rule 40.5). The home team must provide separate, clearly marked "home" and "visitors" areas next to the pitch, the same distance from the halfway line, each seating no more than 12 people (Rule 5.5.11).
