The SAFA Competitions Uniform Rules (approved by SAFA's National Executive Committee on 25 June 2016) bind every club, official and registered player in SAFA's amateur leagues, including the SAFA Junior Football Leagues for U13 and U15 boys and girls.
- Teams are affiliated to their Local Football Association (LFA) and play in streams within each province, SAFA region and LFA.
- All matches are played under the IFAB Laws of the Game (Rule 6.1). The current edition is 2026/27.
- The promotion and relegation rules in the Uniform Rules do not apply to the Junior Football Leagues.
- Where the Uniform Rules are silent, the SAFA Statutes and other SAFA rules apply, then CAF and FIFA regulations (Rule 40.1). SAFA's Competitions Committee can amend the Uniform Rules during a season, with immediate effect.
- By entering, teams agree to observe the Uniform Rules and accept that all administrative, disciplinary and refereeing matters are dealt with under them.
