The World Rugby Laws of the Game apply to all junior rugby in South Africa, with these SA Rugby additions:

| U14 to U19 (high school) | World Rugby's Under 19 law variations |
| All ages | SA Rugby Scrum Law Modifications (January 2026), the playing time and replacements directive (February 2025), the lowered tackle height laws for school and club rugby, the School Age-Banding Regulations (January 2026), the Concussion Regulations and the BokSmart regulations |
Competition rules can add to these, for example which replacement option is used.
