What equipment should I check before a game?

Check every player for:

• Official NFL FLAG belt and flags, sitting on the hips and not obstructed. Flags can't be the same color as the player's shorts or pants.
• Mouth guard, worn at all times on the field.
• Jersey tucked in if it hangs below the belt line. Deliberately covered flags are treated as flag guarding.
• Shoes; no cleats with exposed metal (and no cleats at all where the site doesn't allow them).
• No jewelry or hats (headbands and winter beanies are fine).
• No braces with exposed metal. Gloves, elbow and knee pads, and taped forearms, hands and fingers are allowed.
• Soft-shell helmets, halos and sunglasses must be secured.
• Pocketless shorts or pants are recommended; games won't be delayed while a player tapes pockets.

Players bring their own belts and mouth guards; footballs are provided. In tournaments, officials check every player before every game, and an unchecked player is ineligible for that game.
