Yes, under Rule 6-8-6 (new in 2026, revised for 2027):
- A competitor who hasn't entered the competition within 60 minutes of its first attempt gets a standard warm-up: 1.5 minutes in the high jump or 2 minutes in the pole vault.
- Warm-ups take place during a height change.
- 2027: if the 60-minute mark has already passed, or falls during the height about to begin, officials may give the warm-up at that height change.
- An athlete who has already entered and is jumping isn't entitled to this warm-up. A 2026 NFHS interpretation denied a coach's request for 90 seconds for a jumper who had cleared four heights 49 minutes into the event.
First attempt: a competitor entering at any height has 1 minute for their first attempt, whatever the number of competitors left (6-2-2d).
