Which coaching award do I need for each junior age group?

Under Netball Scotland's Coach Framework (2025), part of the Thistle Mark club standard, clubs must make sure every coach has at least this training:

| Junior, Under 9 | Future Stars, Netball Leaders Award or Introduction to Coaching Award (or equivalent) |
| Junior, Under 11 | Introduction to Coaching Award (or equivalent) |
| Junior, Under 13 | Lead Coach Award (or equivalent) |
| Junior, Under 15 | Lead Coach Award (or equivalent) |
| Junior, Under 17 | Lead Coach Award (or equivalent) |
| Under 19 competitive club | Advanced Coach Award (or equivalent) |
| Senior competitive club | Advanced Coach Award (or equivalent) |
The club is responsible for making sure the coaches it appoints are suitable and appropriately trained. Coaches who move to Scotland with qualifications from another country can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning by emailing educationadmin@netballscotland.com.
