In the 2026-27 MJCC competition (Perth and Peel), Stage 2 is for Year 6 boys, Year 7 boys and Year 8-9 girls (Handbook 2026-27 and Stage 2 Match Day Rules).
| Competition age group | Age on 30 June 2026 | Grade type |
|---|---|---|
| Year 6 boys (U12) | 11 | Non-competitive: no match points, no finals |
| Year 7 boys (U13) | 12 | Competitive: match points and finals |
| Year 8-9 girls (U15) | 13-14 | Competitive: match points and finals |
- Players should play in the age group that matches the table. Girls may play in boys' competitions in their own age group.
- Most Stage 2 grades play on Saturdays. Exceptions are a Year 6 boys Sunday grade for South East Area teams that traditionally play on Sundays, and a Year 6-7 boys South Perth internal grade.
- In competitive grades the top four teams play semi-finals (1st v 4th, 2nd v 3rd), and a player must have played at least 25 per cent of that team's fixtures to be eligible for finals.
- Match points: win 10, tie or draw 5 each, win by forfeit 13, plus 0.01 per run and 0.2 per wicket. The ladder is ranked on average points per match played.
This applies to the Perth and Peel competition only. Other WA and national competitions can differ.
