The ECB Safeguarding Regulations require any concern about the welfare or safety of a child or adult at risk to be reported at the earliest opportunity and in any event within one working day. Failing to share a concern may be a breach of the Regulations.
Who to report to:
- your Club Safeguarding Officer, or
- your County Safeguarding Officer (contact details from your County Cricket Board), or
- the Cricket Regulator Safeguarding Team: safeguarding@cricketregulator.co.uk or 020 7432 1200.
How: record the details on the Cricket Regulator Safeguarding Referral Form and send it to your County Safeguarding Officer or the Safeguarding Team.
Urgent or emergency:
- If someone is at immediate risk, call the police or your local children's social care.
- If it is urgent and you can't reach your club or County Safeguarding Officer, call the NSPCC 24-hour helpline on 0808 800 5000 (help@nspcc.org.uk).
- If a crime has been committed, report it to the police and record the incident number.
Anyone with concerns about a colleague's conduct towards a child or adult at risk can also whistleblow directly to safeguarding@cricketregulator.co.uk.
