Entitled to attend:
- the person or people vilified;
- the person alleged to have breached the rule;
- other people directly involved whom the AFL or controlling body reasonably considers should attend;
- where the conduct vilified a group generally without naming an individual, a representative of that group, invited to give a victim impact statement and the group's perspectives;
- an employee of the AFL or controlling body directly involved in running it, and the conciliator.
All participants are permitted and encouraged to bring a support person, who does not act as an advocate or actively take part. Participants are discouraged from having a legal practitioner as a support person or in any other capacity. Conciliation only goes ahead where the AFL decides it is appropriate in all the circumstances.
