Under regulation 17(10) and (11) of the Boxing Regulations (Boxing Amendment Regulations, 2005), unless Boxing SA gives prior written permission, you may not take part in another bout:
| Your last bout lasted | Minimum wait |
|---|---|
| Fewer than 6 rounds | 14 days |
| 6 to 10 rounds | 21 days |
| More than 10 rounds | 30 days |
You may also not take part in more than six bouts in a year without Boxing SA's prior written permission.
These are separate from the medical suspensions that apply after a knockout or severe punishment (regulation 10), which can be much longer.
