The 2026-27 Para National Ski Team (PNST) has three designations, selected from results in a qualification period of November 15, 2025 to March 31, 2026:
- Senior: for athletes who achieve, or could achieve, strong performances at FIS and/or IBU World Championships, World Cups and the Paralympic Winter Games. Criteria in priority order: top eight and top half of the field at the 2026 Paralympic Winter Games; a top-three individual final finish with 65 or fewer PN FIS or PN IBU points; health-related reasons for athletes named to the 2025-26 Para Nordic World Cup Team; two results of 120 or fewer FIS and/or IBU points in 2025-26; then High Performance Director (HPD) discretion.
- NextGen: athletes with potential to be competitive on the World Cup circuit. Two results of 240 or fewer FIS and/or IBU points in 2025-26, health-related reasons for athletes named to the 2025-26 NextGen team, or HPD discretion. A NextGen athlete must show progression towards the Senior team within two years.
- Development: new talents who could be competitive on the World Cup circuit within four years. One race result of 320 or fewer FIS and/or IBU points in 2025-26, or HPD discretion. A Development athlete must show progression towards NextGen within five years.
Only World Cup and Paralympic results from events with enough depth of field count: at least 2 athletes under 20 FIS points or at least 3 under 40 FIS points in that sport class.
