You need a Medical Review (IPC Classification Code 2025, Article 37).
- A change in the nature or degree of your eligible impairment may mean your eligibility or sport class is no longer correct. Examples include surgery, a new medication or device, another medical procedure, or a new underlying health condition.
- The request is made by your national federation on your behalf, not by you directly.
- Your national federation must request a Medical Review if your eligible impairment changes.
- The request must explain in detail why it is being made, including how and to what extent your impairment has changed.
- If the international federation accepts the request, your sport class status changes to Review at the Next Available Opportunity (R-NAO), so you are re-evaluated before your next covered competition.
Each international federation sets its own procedure for requesting and running Medical Reviews.
